The Development

Crewe Hall farm is a partnership development between the Duchy of Lancaster and Maple Grove Developments. A rare undertaking for the Duchy, Crewe Hall Farm is also the largest development on Duchy land and one of only a select few office farm conversions in the Cheshire area.

Set upon 3.12 acres of leafy farmland on the historic Crewe Estate, the development will create six high-spec, modern and spacious leasehold offices from the refurbishment of five original structures and construction of a new two-storey building. All grounds will be architecturally landscaped and provision for 140 car spaces will be made.

With the farm buildings dating back over 120 years, some Grade II listed, the project is an exercise in sensitive design, heritage conservation and sustainable development.

Contemporary architecture has been employed to maintain the original character of the farm through a complementary design of the new build and the integration of some of the original features – such as brick walls, exposed timber trusses and stone staircases – within the renovated buildings.

The development construction also pays close attention to sustainable practices from site preparation through to internal finishes. Carbon neutral facilities, waste management and recycling, relocation of wildlife (including the creation of bird boxes and ‘bat barn’), and sustainable energy sourcing are key to Maple Grove Developments’ construction practices.

ACCOMMODATION

Crewe Hall Farm will provide more than 27,000 sq ft (2500m²) of total lettable office space. One single-storey and six two-storey office buildings will provide flexible and easily-adapted space that readily accommodates businesses of various styles and sizes.
